Jessica Hyman

Community Art Collaborative Staff Member

Jessica Hyman is an award-winning local DJ with over seven years of experience working with youth and adults in community and educational settings. With an undergraduate background in Gender Studies, and a graduate background in Social Work, Jessica has spent her career mentoring, coaching, advising and doing case management with community members of all ages, all while utilizing a social justice lens. A member of Baltimore-based women-of-color arts collective, BALTI GURLS, Jessica has built capacity for arts organizing and has learned the value of artistic community. Jessica joins Wide Angle as an Americorps Community Arts Collaborative Member, and will serve at Wide Angle Youth Media for one year, supporting youth through mentoring, workforce development, advising, and DJ skills instruction. Jessica graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gender Studies in 2010, and is a candidate for a Master’s of Social Work degree at University of Maryland, Baltimore.
