Jolan Emamali

webpicJolan Emamali is an artist born and raised in Washington, DC. As a child, he studied and worked as a model, actor, and dancer working in film, television, and Broadway. Following his creative passions, he attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago focusing predominantly on video and film production. Jolan stayed in Chicago for some time after graduation working for fine art galleries and museums as well doing freelance work for anything creative and artistic. Jolan moved back to Washington, DC in 2009 as a picture framer and freelancer predominantly working with painting, drawing, and performance. Jolan began teaching in 2015 for a non-profit in Mt. Rainier, MD helping kids of all ages learn more about art, media, and social justice. He decided to move to Baltimore in 2016 to continue teaching and to pursue his artistic endeavors in painting, drawing, and video production. jolan@wideanglemedia.org
