BREAKING BARRIERS: GETTING AT THE HEART OF STIGMA & STEREOTYPES

This year Wide Angle's theme for MediaWorks chosen by students is “Stigma and Stereotypes.” Keeping in mind the ways that these stereotypes are perpetuated in not just media, but spread to other issues in the local community, students spent five weeks researching and creating media surrounding this topic. Wide Angle's virtual closing event, Breaking Barriers: Getting at the Heart of Stigma & Stereotypes, was created by MediaWorks student planners to showcase what they've learned and created over the past few weeks.

Join us on Thursday, August 4th at 6 PM for this interactive and educational event that will include a virtual gallery of images to explore, words from black contemporary artist Blu Murphy, and an opportunity for a heart-to-heart discussion surrounding stigma!
