We’re turning 20!
Our students are throwing an Oscars-inspired celebration but they’re flipping the script on the Academy. This inclusive #WAYMiesInColor celebration embraces the #OscarsSoWhite call to recognize diverse voices and uplift new perspectives in media.
This memorable evening will feature “Best Of” media screenings, a WAYMie (whammy) awards ceremony, special guests, youth hosts, and reflections from alumni. The evening will uplift inspiring stories of Baltimore, celebrate the power of youth voice and highlight where we’re headed in the next 20 years. It will also kick off fundraising efforts to raise $20,000 before the end of 2020 from individual donors, so we can support youth in our middle, high school and workforce programs in the coming year.

The WAYMie Awards are a chance for our community to select their favorite Wide Angle projects over the past two decades. Voting has ended. Everyone who voted will be entered to win cash prizes! We will announce the winners at our event.
WAYMie categories: Best Graphic Design Project, Rising Filmmakers, Best Horror Film, Best Comedy/Satire, and Best Long Documentary.
