The One In Eight Million Project

By: Da’el Clapperton & Sarah Milinski
The “One In Eight Million” project is an online multimedia project that shares personal stories from people living in New York City. There are about eight million people in New York and this project features multimedia slideshows of 56 New York residents. Some of the people who were interviewed include a crazy sports fan, a very busy school girl, a sneaker collector and a grandfather. By listening to the oral interview and looking at photographs you get to enter their life for two minutes. The photos enhance the oral storytelling because if you were to just listen to their voices your brain would only be half paying attention and interested; but the pictures capture your eyes and your interest so that you are watching as well as listening.
