COMMUNITY VOICES

Wide Angle Youth Media’s Community Voices program teaches young people how to make compelling photographs and tell stories of their experiences. Through free photography workshops throughout the community, the program provides technical training and media production to over 130 students each year.

This program gave Wide Angle our first publication, This Is Baltimore. This book, comprised of powerful student self-portraits, aims to change how youth are perceived and shift the focus on Baltimore’s youth to one of celebration and encouragement.

In the spring, WAYM offers free 2 day 2-hour photography workshops to Baltimore schools and community organizations. If you are interested in hosting a Community Voices workshop at your Baltimore school or organizations, submit an application to us today!
