Video

Wide Angle offers two video courses:

Video Lab is an introductory course where students explore their interest in film by examining the history of filmmaking: different eras, genres, and methods of filmmaking. Students learn the basics of filmmaking to operate DSLR cameras, editing software, lighting, and audio equipment to create personal and group projects. In addition, this course covers the five phases of filmmaking: Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production, Promotion, and Publishing.

Design Studio is an advanced track where students explore all aspects of creating video content ranging from interviews, monologues, music videos, films, and much more! Students learn the fundamentals of video production (including the basics of DSLR cameras, lighting, and audio and video editing skills), understand how composition impacts an image, and participate in peer critiques to grow as an artist and strengthen their work. (Video Lab or a sufficient portfolio and knowledge is a prerequisite to joining this class.)
